Dr. Bedoya and her team here at your leading Tucson Arizona orthodontist office have improved the smiles of many patients in Tucson, Vail and the surrounding areas and are very proud of the results! An increasing number of our patients today prefer to wear Invisalign and Invisalign Teen since there are no wires or brackets used throughout treatment.

What are Invisalign and Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen consist of a series of clear, custom-made removable aligners that gradually move teeth into the desired position. The aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that is worn over the teeth. There are neither metal brackets to attach nor any wires to tighten. You simply put in a set of aligners approximately every two weeks until your treatment is complete and you achieve the straight, confident smile you've always wanted. Because the aligners used in Invisalign and Invisalign Teen are clear, very few people will even realize that you're having your teeth straightened.

Some of the main conditions Invisalign and Invisalign Teen can be used for include:

  • Gapped teeth
  • Over bite
  • Under bite
  • Open bite
  • Overly crowded teeth
  • Cross bite

Only an orthodontist can determine whether Invisalign or Invisalign Teen is right for you. Following your initial examination conducted by Dr. Bedoya in our Tucson orthodontist office, we will sit down with you to discuss your treatment options if it is determined that orthodontic treatment is necessary.

How is Invisalign Teen different from Invisalign?

Invisalign Teen is very much like Invisalign only this system was designed specifically to meet the needs of teenagers. Each Invisalign Teen aligner has what is called a “Blue Dot Wear Indicator” on it, which is there to remind your teenager that it's time to switch to the next set of aligners in the series. Your teen will receive six free replacement aligners in case some are broken or lost. Additionally, Invisalign Teen differs from regular Invisalign because it was designed with your teenagers growing mouth in mind. Invisalign Teen is the ideal way for busy young people to straighten their teeth without having to wear traditional metal braces.

Main Benefits of Invisalign and Invisalign Teen

There are many benefits associated with the Invisalign System. Perhaps the main benefit is that you can have your smile improved very discreetly with Invisalign and Invisalign Teen because the aligner trays are virtually invisible. This will provide you with self-confidence throughout the treatment process since most people cannot tell that your aligners are being worn.

You are also able to enjoy all those foods you love while wearing Invisalign as you can simply take the aligners out when eating and then just pop them back in when done. This is something that is not possible with conventional braces as some foods like hard-crusted breads and nuts should avoided as they can damage your brackets and wires. Lastly, because you can take the Invisalign aligners out, you're able to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would to maintain good oral hygiene throughout the treatment process.

As you can see, there are many reasons to choose Invisalign or Invisalign Teen!
